Arrangement: The collection, consists of:
36 vintage prints of Villa Aurelia in the time of Clara Jessup Heyland, 1879-1909
146 photographic prints of Villa Aurelia and other buildings in Rome, present or former property of the AAR
103 photographic prints of McKim, Mead and White building
16 large-format vintage prints relating to Villa Aurelia and MMW building
An album of 86 vintage prints documenting the construction of the MMW building in 1919
Miscellanea of prints on the American Academy in Rome activities from the 60s' to the present has not yet been inventoried. It is well preserved in a climate control room of the AAR Photoarchive and the conservation project is in progress.
In 2002, the Laboratorio Scaramella duplicated the 180 existing glass plate negatives on acetate negatives 6 x 7 cm and produced the corrisponding prints.

Scope and Contents: The collection of the American Academy in Rome - Institutional Archive, documents the Academy's activities as an international cultural organization dedicated to the arts and humanities. It features selected institutional records created by past and current administrative and programmatic units of the American Academy in Rome either in Rome and in New York.
The collection includes documentation related to the Academy buildings and memories and events such as exhibitions, symposia, conferences, tours, concerts and lectures.
